Rusty:

kisses!
is a six-year-old australian shepherd/border collie mix that my parents gave me and my brother Joe as a christmas present when i was in the sixth grade. he is probably more spoiled than any dog Paris Hilton or Nicole Ritchie has ever owned. he loves snuggling, chasing the waterfowl away from our yard, attacking Duckie, and jumping up on our chests and giving us “hugs”. his favorite food is pizza crusts (which is lucky because i work at a pizzeria!), and he assumes that anything in a can is his territory. for the most part he hates other dogs, with the exceptions of his best “piss buddies”, McKinley (an enormous, slobbery golden reriever), and Mr. Miles (a black, short haired terrier mix with a bum leg, who LOVES coffee), sometimes we take them to these “dog parties” hosted by CityDog magazine to chill like classy people… and dogs… and eat delicious hors d’oeuvres. like i said, spoiled. he’s gotten back into the habit of nipping people, but I’m guessing that’s because we recently moved into a very dog un-friendly neighborhood. even so, he is the sweetest dog alive. case closed!

as a puppy... isn't he the cutest!?

playing in our old yard.
Duckie:

standard Duckie.
Duckie was found in the wild as a tiny kitten, living in a burn pile with her brothers and sisters. She was rescued by the mother of one of my brother’s friends and seeing as they couldn’t keep her, my brother gave her to me as a present for me 17th birthday! I was so excited, i had always wanted a kitty and loved her immediately.
We call Duckie “the brat cat” because she is horribly mean to everyone except me, my dad, and Connor. i say it’s because she’s loyal, but everyone else says it’s because she’s a little bitch! i love her anyway. she’s gorgeous and incredibly petite, and has all of the tomcats in our neighborhood head-over-heels! Duckie loves to help me eat my morning cereal, she’s very useful when it comes to not wasting the milk that’s left over. her life’s mission is to at last capture and devour my hamster, Button, but spiders will have to suffice (since she’s too small to catch the water rats that live in our yard… yuck!). she loves to be scratched under her chin but HATES it when you kiss her face- i can’t help doing so, though, just ’cause she’s so darn cute!

me and the Duckster!
